Acharya Institute of Management and Sciences  (AIMS), Bangalore Eligibility Criteria for 2022

  • Candidates for the B.B.A. program are chosen based on their grades in Class 12 and the Personal Interview (PI) round. 
  • Candidates for the rest of the UG courses, such as BA, B.Com., B.Sc., B.H.M., and B.C.A., are chosen based on their grades in Class 12. 
  • Candidates for the M.B.A. program are chosen based on their grades in M.B.A. PGCET/ CAT/ MAT/ ATMA or any other state-approved admission test. Preference is given to candidates with at least one year of work experience.
  • Candidates are chosen for admission to PGDM (Full-time) and PGDM (Weekend) programs based on their graduation grades and entrance exam results, such as CAT/ MAT/ XAT/ ATMA or any other state-approved admission test, followed by Group Discussion, Extempore, and PI.
  • Candidates for the EPGDM program are chosen based on their grades in their final qualifying test (graduation) and job experience. The final decision is made based on the results of the Skype-based PI.
  • Candidates for the MSW, M.Com., MFA and M.Sc. programs are chosen based on their grades in their final qualifying exam (graduation). 
  • Candidates for the Ph.D. program are chosen based on the institute's admission exam. Candidates who have taken and passed the M.Phil. course, UGC NET, or CSIR NET entrance exam are exempt from the admission exam.

For M.B.A. Admissions

  • Selection criteria: Valid scores in PGCET/ CAT/ MAT/ ATMA or any state-approved admission test
  • Eligibility criteria: Students must hold a bachelor's or master's degree from a recognized university, or a bachelor's degree plus three years of supervisory/ managerial/ professional experience OR a professional degree in engineering/ technology/ medicine/ architecture/ law OR a professional qualification in accountancy/ cost and work accounting/ company secretaryship, etc.

For BA Admissions

  • Selection criteria: Candidates are selected on the basis of marks scored in the last qualifying exam (Class 12).
  • Eligibility criteria: Passed Class 12 or PUC or any other comparable test. GCE/ JGSCE/ GCSE certification with a least two subjects at 'O' level and two subjects at 'A' level is required for candidates from Sri Lanka, Nepal, Bangladesh, and Bhutan. Other international applicants must have a minimum of five 'O' level subjects and two 'A' level courses.

For B.Com. Admissions

  • Selection Criteria: Candidates are selected on the basis of marks scored in the last qualifying exam (Class 12).
  • Eligibility Criteria: Passed Class 12 or PUC or any other comparable test. For B.C.A. Admissions

  • Selection Criteria: Candidates are selected on the basis of marks scored in the last qualifying exam (Class 12).
  • Eligibility Criteria: Passed Class 12 or PUC in any discipline with a minimum of 40% aggregate from any recognized board or council.

For B.B.A. Admissions

  • Selection Criteria: Candidates are selected on the basis of marks scored in the last qualifying exam (Class 12).
  • Eligibility Criteria: Passed the Pre-University Course (PUC) or an examination of equal value.

For PGDM Admissions

  • Selection Criteria: Candidates who have passed graduation (under the 10+2+3 scheme) with at least 50% aggregate are exempted from the entrance test for admission.

For MFA Admissions

  • Eligibility Criteria: B.Com./B.B.M./B.B.A./B.B.S. degree from a recognized institution with a minimum of 50% aggregate (45 percent for SC/ST/CAT-I and blind students).

For M.Sc. Admissions

  • Selection Criteria: Merit as per the Karnataka Education Act
  • Eligibility Criteria: Bachelor's degree with a cognate subject average of at least 50% and optional subjects average of at least 40%. Candidates from SAARC and other countries should have a GCE/ JGCSE/ GCSE certificate and have completed five 'O' level subjects and two 'A' level topics.

For M.C.A. Admissions

  • Selection Criteria: Marks scored in the last qualifying exam.
  • Eligibility Criteria: A bachelor's degree with a minimum of 50% aggregate (45% for SC/ST/CAT-I quota) is required. In addition, the candidate must score a 50 percent aggregate (45 percent for SC/ST/CAT-I) in Maths/Statistics/Computer Science/Computer Programming/Computer Applications/ Bus. Maths/ Bus. Stats (either at Class 12 or degree level)

For Ph.D. Admissions

  • Selection criteria: Admission to the Ph.D. program is based on the entrance test conducted by AIMS. Candidates who have appeared and qualified MPhil course/ UGC NET/ CSIR NET entrance exam are exempted from the entrance test. 
  • Eligibility criteria: Passed a Master's degree or any other University degree/diploma with a minimum of 55 percent aggregate or equivalent CGPA (50 percent for SC/ ST/ CAT- I applicants).

For PCMB, PCMC, CEBA Admissions

  • Selection criteria: Passed Class 10 in the relevant discipline from any recognized board approved by Pre-University Education, Government of Karnataka.
  • Eligibility criteria: Mathematics and Science should be required topics for all candidates. Class 10 passes from any recognized board that has been accepted by the Government of Karnataka's Pre-University Education Department.

The first step in the application process is filling out the online admission form at the Acharya Institute of Management and Sciences (AIMS), Bangalore. Before submitting a form, students should double-check their eligibility and selection criteria.
